Family Services
On the Third Sunday of each month, St. Simeon's offers a Family Service for people of all ages. These services offer a relaxed format of Service of the Word, featuring guitar-led music and lay-led worship (with the support of Rev'd Nick Brotherwood, our Priest-in-charge).
We are very thankful for the ministry of Gordon McPhee, who not only plans these services, but also leads the singing and offers his thoughtful homilies to those who attend. There is a strong team of lay leaders who also take part in this joyous service of worship to God.
This Family service will be held on the third Sunday of each month at 10 am. All are welcome.
Annual Vestry Meeting
The Annual Vestry Meeting was held following the Eucharist Service and coffee hour on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
The Eucharist Service was led by Ven. Ralph Leavitt at 10 am
The Vestry Meeting took place in the church hall at around 11:30 am. Ven. Ralph Leavitt opened the meeting with prayer.
Some History
Some historical documents for you to read:
St. Simeon's celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1980, two years following the actual date in 1878 when the first resident clergyman (the Rev. H. J. Evans) was appointed to the Parish. A booklet was created in 1980 to celebrate the anniversary and included in this booklet was a brief history of the Parish and a description of the activities and groups in the church at the time. At the time of the celebration of the 100th Anniversary, the Rev. Trevor Jones was our incumbent. I remember that there was a big dinner and a special Sunday service with many local dignitaries and clergy present. (Click on History and description to see these documents)
