Welcome to St. Simeon's
St. Simeon's has a new sign!
Thanks to Darren Prentice for creating and installing this beautiful new sign in front of our church. Thank you Darren for your creativity and for your resourcefulness. Welcome Back!
St. Simeon's is thankful to the Lachute United Church for sharing worship services with us throughout the summer months. It has been a rewarding and refreshing experience to worship together.
We have now returned to our regular schedule of services as of September 1, 2024. St. Simeon's gathers for worship at 10 am on Sunday mornings. Please refer to our calendar for more information.
All are welcome to worship with us.
Video Series based on the Beatitudes
Reflections from the Library is a series of 9 videos about the Beatitudes. These videos are scripted, recorded and presented by Gordon and Rolanda McPhee and they have generously offered them to us for publication on our You Tube channel. The entire series is now on-line. Enjoy. Click on ReadMore for more information and for the links to the videos.
Some History
Some historical documents for you to read:
St. Simeon's celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1980, two years following the actual date in 1878 when the first resident clergyman (the Rev. H. J. Evans) was appointed to the Parish. A booklet was created in 1980 to celebrate the anniversary and included in this booklet was a brief history of the Parish and a description of the activities and groups in the church at the time. At the time of the celebration of the 100th Anniversary, the Rev. Trevor Jones was our incumbent. I remember that there was a big dinner and a special Sunday service with many local dignitaries and clergy present. (Click on History and description to see these documents)
Annual Vestry Meeting
The Annual Vestry Meeting for the Parish of Lachute: St. Simeon's Anglican Church; was held following the 10 am worship service on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Thank you to all who participated.
He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. Eph 4: 16
Family Services
On the Third Sunday of each month, St. Simeon's offers a Family Service for people of all ages. These services offer a relaxed format of Service of the Word, featuring guitar-led music and lay-led worship (with the support of Rev'd Nick Brotherwood, our Priest-in-charge).
We are very thankful for the ministry of Gordon McPhee, who not only plans these services, but also leads the singing and offers his thoughtful homilies to those who attend. There is a strong team of lay leaders who also take part in this joyous service of worship to God.
This Family service will be held on the third Sunday of each month at 10 am. All are welcome.
